POSSESS - THE SECRET OF CLEOPATRA by ORIFLAME

Oriflame launched this lovely perfume in 2014, being announced as: "Timeless, sparkling yet intensely seductive, Possess Eau de Parfum embodies the provocative allure of Cleopatra, whose legendary powers of seduction brought Mark Antony to his knees. Laced with intoxicatingly tempting notes of ylang ylang, this sexy, luminous fragrance leaves no one indifferent, as it casts a hypnotic spell of attraction."

The bottle's design is also influenced from the legend - the cobra, which brought to an end the life of Cleopatra, stays wrapped around the perfume's spray:

The perfume opens like sweet aroma with pleasant pineapple veil, which is so delicious, that you want it to stay whole day with you, with the same illuminating splash, as from the first push of the spray. I think, this is the most possessive and captivating note from this perfume.

After this lovely splashing opening note settles down on your skin, you can find, that it stays even, when the heart notes emerges, through the base notes composition, too. In one moment, it seems, that all that "levels" sounds together. It stays on your skin for hours later, but closer to the skin, than at the beginning.

If you spray this perfume on textile/clothes, it will stay much, much longer and will emerge more notes together.

   The perfume pyramid is:

TOP NOTES:

 Pineapple, Grapefruit, Freesia

HEART NOTES:

Orange blossom, Ylang-ylang, Sweet raspberry

BASE NOTES:

Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vanilla

The powerful splash of Pineapple and citrus, is really lovely. Of course, it's only my opinion, but it's truly lovely! The Freesia calms this splash down with calming tender touch.

Once again, I say, after I testes this perfume, the veil from the beginning stays like dominating accord, during all "lifetime" of the perfume on your skin.

If we have to compare (because we all like to do that) this perfume with some famous perfume, I find absolutely close to La Vie Est Belle by Lancome, edp. Once, Possess settles on its base tones, you feel almost like, if you have the mentioned above perfume. Almost 1:1.

The only one very obvious for the sensitive nose difference, between both of them is the powerful Pineapple note in the beginning of the Possess openings. The Black currant+Pear notes combination in La Vie Est Belle, almost "imitates" the sweetly tickling Pineapple note from Possess.

This difference between these too similar note "steps" is powerfully united and supported from the vanilla tone.

The perfume comes into glass bottle, designed with very beautiful golden colored serpent:

Also, the cap is locker, against "accidents" in your purse ;)

   CONCLUSIONS:

Overall, the perfume is nice and interesting!

It lasts for hours! Especially on clothes.

I can say, that if you expect it to unveil all its notes, like traditional perfume, from the French "school", it won't happen. This perfume has not the same depth, as they have. Despite, Oriflame claims, that there are included over 80 ingredients inside this composition. The described officially, are the most dominating.

It's nice for late afternoon, evening.

Not suitable for office environment, hospital, child garden, restaurant.

If you think, you like this type of fragrance compositions,

   I RECOMMEND IT!
